Restaurant Supervisor - Permanent - Marlborough

We are looking for a hands-on supervisor with strong floor skills, a clear sense of leadership, a professional manner and an ability to keep calm under pressure.

Your warmth, commitment and confidence will make you approachable to the entire team including senior management, experienced chefs, the customer facing team, and the patrons.

The responsibilities of this role will include:

• Responsibility for running the Jacks Raw Bar restaurant and functions
• Overseeing the operational organisation of Internal and VIP bookings
• Working closely with the chefs to maximise operational efficiencies
• Maintain effective communication amongst the cellar door, restaurant and kitchen teams
• Delivering exceptional customer service to the tasting room and retail area
• Assist the Cellar Door Manager with the delivery of all types of hosting and tastings whilst demonstrating your in-depth knowledge of the Cloudy Bay wines
• Processing sales of wine, food produce and merchandise through point of sale
• Creating and maintaining exceptional customer relationships
• Compliance with all health and safety regulations
• Ensure all licensing guidelines are adhered to
• Take responsibility for extra management tasks when required
• Ensure the team is trained, motivated and focused.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 Years Hospitality and Cellar Door Host experience
• Excellent wine knowledge - WSET Level 2 Certificate, essential
• Duty Manager qualification, essential
• Strong leadership and communication skills to lead and support your team to deliver an exceptional service to the customers
• Excellent communication skills and a ‘Can do’ attitude with an attention to details
• Excellent command of both verbal and written English, additional language is plus
• Ability to work cooperatively and positively in a team environment
• Flexible able to work at weekends and holidays and varying shift lengths
• Physically fit as the job involves standing and lifting
• Impeccable personal hygiene and grooming standards
• Experience with Point-of-Sale IT systems and online booking systems
• Computer proficient
