Cloudy Bay’s outdoor garden restaurant, Jack’s Raw Bar, is a major element of our visitor experience.

Our commitment to seasonal and local products lends perfectly to the Cloudy Bay brand. Bring your wine and food experience and top-standard customer service ability to create authentic gastronomic experiences for our guests. We have recently been included in Cuisine Magazines good food guide for 2023/2024 so anticipation is high for the season ahead.

We are seeking a Restaurant Supervisor with passion and energy to help run the daily operations of Jack’s Raw Bar to ensure and enhance the overall customer experience. Working alongside an internationally recognized Chef with Michelin and Hat experience, we are looking to develop our offer at Jack’s Raw Bar and to deepen our commitment to an elevated restaurant experience in a comfortable and relaxed setting.

We are open seven days a week for lunch and private dinners, so successful applicants will need to be available to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays from early November 2023 through to end of April 2024.

About You

You will be a hands-on manager with strong floor skills, a clear sense of leadership, a professional manner and an ability to keep calm under pressure. Your warmth, commitment and confidence will make you approachable to the entire team including senior management, experienced chefs, the large customer facing team and the patrons.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responsibility for the running of the restaurant and functions as well as overseeing the organization of Internal and VIP bookings
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
  • Create and maintain exceptional customer relationships
  • You will work closely with chefs to maximize operational efficiencies
  • Maintain effective communication amongst the cellar door team, restaurant team and kitchen team
  • Ensure all licensing guidelines are adhered to
  • Allocating duties to staff to ensure smooth operations
  • Take responsibility for extra management tasks when required
  • Ensure the team is trained, motivated and focused

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 to 2 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Excellent command of both verbal and written English, additional language is plus
  • Impeccable personal hygiene and grooming standards
  • Good level of wine knowledge and wine service
  • Experience with Point-of-Sale IT systems and online booking systems.
  • You will be physically fit as the job involves standing and lifting
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to lead and support your team to deliver an exceptional service to the customers
