About the Role

As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, supporting and customising developed systems software and firmware for customers. This role will involve operating Datacom’s technical infrastructure including corporate hardware and software as well as providing corporate systems for the Datacom Business. Your knowledge, and more importantly ability to learn and apply your skills, will lead to success in the role and for the team. We build and run numerous key systems for some great Kiwi companies and we keep their businesses running by supporting them from anywhere in New Zealand. As a result, we are passionate about getting the results that the customer needs and adding value to their business.

Ideally, the successful applicant will be Wellington based but we are open to remote working anywhere in NZ if necessary.


Requirements

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has passion and pride in everything that they do and are willing to both teach and learn.
  • Has the knack to easily multi-task between our varied client environments
  • Confidence to engage with our clients and talk them through issues that may arise or changes that can be made to provide business and technological benefits.
  • Is honest and transparent in their communication with excellent organisation skills
  • Aptitude to work within a team and the wider Datacom business
  • Proven analytics and problem-solving skills
  • Has Agile and ITIL experience
  • Has a strong focus on the importance of documentation as well as accurate and punctual timekeeping
  • Is detail oriented and process focused
  • Ability to multitask between several environments<
