About The Role - Te mahi

An exciting opportunity awaits for a Full Time Food and Beverage Attendant in our restaurant at Sudima Lake Rotorua. With bookings climbing and our Hotel getting busier, it is time to find talented Food and Beverage Attendants for our Restaurants.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about hospitality and have experience in restaurants or customer-facing roles. Full training will be provided.

Whether you are a seasoned professional or new to the Hospitality industry, we are keen to interview you. We are looking for a good understanding of customer service and a willingness to learn.

This part-time permanent role (minimum 20 hours per week) is based at Sudima Lake Rotorua and the hourly rate is $24.00 per hour.

Responsibilities | Nga haepapa

  • Greet customers and present them with menus and beverage lists
  • Open bottles and pour beverages
  • Remove empty bottles and used glasses from tables, refill and replace glasses
  • Take all food amp; beverage service orders breakfast, lunch and dinner and provide to the kitchen team/bar as appropriate
  • Provide details of any specials and upsell food and beverage options with guests
  • Recommend Food and Wine Match
  • Know the menu options and be able to advise on suitable options for different dietary requirements
  • Prepare hot and cold beverages including barista and alcoholic beverages
  • Set up, arrange, clear and wipe down tables
  • Ensure you deliver excellent guest service
  • Provide support to those with accessibility needs or with children
  • Follow up and resolve any guest complaints or direct it to the Supervisor
  • Work as directed in all areas of Food amp; Beverage including conferencing
  • Assist with the preparation of an outlet for service including cleaning and maintaining glassware, flatware and china for service
  • Preparing waiter stations, buffet service, service equipment and materials
  • Assisting with table preparation, set up and break down
  • Mini Bar duties including, filling mini-bar trolleys, checking, replacement, recording and billing of stock in accordance with mini-bar procedure
  • Deliver room service and ensure trays are collected in a timely manner

Requirements


  • Work as a team to ensure exceptional service and dining experiences
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, willing to go the extra mile to ensure guests make the most of their day
  • Outstanding communication and customer service skills, with good attention to detail
  • Have the desire to learn and grow your hospitality career
  • Preferred bar and barista experience
  • Flexibility to work outside normal hours as required. (which may include early morning starts, late finishes, weekends and public holidays)
  • Can work on a rotating roster
  • NZQF Level 2 or 3 qualification (ANZSCO Skill Level 4)
  • OR least one year of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.
