About the role

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of the Smartly product development team here at Datacom as an intermediate QA Tester.

We place our trust in you to be able to plan, implement, execute, and report the outcome of your testing, be creative in your approaches and be able to work in environments with a range of deliverables across web and mobile platforms.

You will be catching defects before they get into production, minimizing bugs, and contributing to creating great software solutions for our customers. You will bring a history of applying great testing practices and you truly understand what good QA strategy looks like.

Your responsibilities

  • Perform functional testing based on business requirements and acceptance criteria, across a range of areas - Front end/UI, database, API, regression amp; smoke testing.
  • Produce Quality Assurance and Test Planning documents as per agreed methodology (e.g., Test Strategies, Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Scripts, Defect amp; Results reports, etc).
  • Manage and facilitate defect logging, tracking and reporting.
  • Have accountability for signoff on testing phases, testing types and outcomes.
  • Liaise with Product Owners, Project Managers, Business Analysts, Developers and other associated roles providing testing method and QA guidance.
  • Be part of the solution actively contribute to team discussions, raise ambiguities, provide ideas, share experience and expertise.
  • Being an active and collaborative member of the wider Datacom team and organisation, taking part in activities as required.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of customer functionality, test standards and procedures.
  • Guide and mentor junior team members as work is planned and delivered.
  • Promote collaboration and learning, fun and team spirit consistent with Datacom culture and brand values to Smartly, within Datacom and to the Datacom Community of Practice.
  • Takes reasonable care that their actions (or inactions) do not harm the Health and Safety of self or others. Reports all incidents, hazards or unsafe work practices as per Datacom policy.

What you'll bring

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A strong background in software testing with 2+ years' experience in a testing role
  • Experienced in creation of Test Related documentation e.g., Test Cases, Scripts, Defects amp; reporting.
  • Experience with Structured Test Management Tools including defect management.
  • Experience with Software Testing Methodologies in a full development shop.
  • Proven experience using SQL Server Management Studio for analysis and testing
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance best practices, latest methodologies and tools
  • Ability to contribute to developing the software testing skills and knowledge within the wider team
  • Ability to organise, plan and deliver your assignments in a professional manner with minimal supervision
  • A passion for learning and continuous self-improvement, and sharing knowledge and experience with others
