Our Team

You will be joining a fast paced, innovative and highly engaged team, part of Datacom's People amp; Culture group.

About the Role

As the People and Culture Manager, you will be the business partner for the New Zealand Technology Services group (circa 3,500 people) and will add value through both strategic projects and day to day business support. Areas of responsibility include partnering with leadership on strategic priorities, employee experience, engagement amp; retention, influencing organisational culture and leading and developing the People team.

The role will be based in our Gaunt St, Auckland office with a hybrid working model (WFH flexibility).

Role Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Strategic planning and analysis of initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Ensuring performance and planning aligns with cost, productivity measures and the broader Datacom strategy
  • Mentoring and coaching others
  • Providing advice and support to leaders and employees on policy and procedure, including performance and development
  • Reviewing and improving initiatives to ensure best practice and improved employee experience
  • Developing and implementing attraction amp; retention strategies
  • Ensuring understanding of contemporary people practices and legislation
  • Leading a team of People Advisors ensuring their growth and development

Desirable Knowledge and Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Human Resources Management
  • Knowledge and application of labour and employment regulations and practices
  • Strong business acumen
  • Ability to respond to complex issues of diverse scope
  • Ability to frequently interact with a variety of stakeholders and team members
  • Ability to shape amp; deliver strategy

Experience:

  • 5+ years of Human Resource experience
  • Demonstrated experience in managing people and teams, finances, budget tracking and reporting
  • Proven negotiation skills
