Job Description
We are looking for talented and passionate developers to help build Thematic across our tech stack. While this description is focused on the frontend, we believe in finding people that fit anywhere along the visual design-gt;frontend-gt;backend-gt;infrastructure spectrum that will help build out our team and make us stronger.
PLEASE NOTE that this role is for someone who is already based in New Zealand or someone who would like to relocate to New Zealand. Please note in your cover letter.
We are fully remote, in that we don't have a physical office, but we are not asynchronous. This means that you have to be based in NZ to work NZT hours.
About Thematic
Thematic is a SaaS platform for customer feedback analysis, powered by the latest AI algorithms. Our goal is to empower teams to get clear and accurate insights from customer feedback in a fast and effortless way. We work with the likes of Google, LinkedIn, Atlassian and Doordash (just to name a few). Our users are researchers, analysts and product operations people. By getting a faster understanding of customer needs, our customers improve their customer metrics, and grow faster. As a Product Manager, you will help take our existing product to the next level, making it sticker and more impactful.
We've been around since 2017 and are a fully remote team of 20+. Our Ramp;D happens in New Zealand, our sales focus has been mainly in the US. We use modern tools like Slack, Jira and Zoom for communication and collaboration. We strive to minimize meetings, but also dedicate time to build a diverse and inclusive company culture. We are well funded (YCombinator, AirTree) and profitable.
About this role
What you might be responsible for:
- Building new features and maintaining existing ones in Thematic's product
- Ensuring automated testing and CI/CD is helping us ship safely and efficiently
- Validating and iterating on projects, making sure they are delivering what our users and customers will be delighted by
- Collaborating closely with fellow team members to achieve team amp; company goals
- Helping to decide on both the technical and product roadmaps, and helping us balance the two
- Working with others across Thematic (marketing amp; customer success) to help them deliver value to customers in new and exciting ways
- Helping other engineers on the team
Requirements
What we are looking for:
- Passionate about building products people get value from
- 2 or more years of experience in at least one of the core technologies we use:
- Frontend (React, Vue, D3, SCSS, automation testing)
- Experience working in a remote environment with a distributed team (or wanting this to be your lifestyle)
- Based either in New Zealand, or between New Zealand and PST
- Enjoy continuously learning and growing
What you might have:
- Experience building SaaS products
- Experience in some of the backend technologies we use:
- Backend (Python, Flask, API development, Clickhouse)
- AWS Infrastructure (ECS, Batch, monitoring, compliance)
- Working in a small company
- Appreciation for visual design and making things the customer wants

- You'll have a base salary of $140,000-$160,000 per year (depending on the experience), plus employee stock options.
