Due to continued growth and new business, we have an opportunity for someone to become part of our Hamilton team, where you will be supporting both local and national customers.

About the Role:

The Field Engineer role is responsible for providing highly visible general service/support to customers in either a field or on-site capacity. This role manages and maintains physical hardware, physical or virtual operating system platforms, and provides proactive and reactive support services to maintain the availability and reliability of the client environment and application stacks

What you’ll do:

  • Oversee any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems
  • Install, repair and maintain customers’ computer systems environment including hardware, system software and peripherals
  • Manage customer relationships, understanding specific client requirements and feeding back to Datacom to support their needs
  • Proactively manage and monitor the system environment for continuing business support, resolving issues within the required Service Level timeframe
  • Support sites and end users on services such as Desktops, Laptops, Desk-Phones, Mobile phones, end-point devices like laptops etc. Investigating business problems and seek solutions within the environment
  • Own incidents, requests, and hardware Move, Add and Change (MAC’s) assigned to their Service Desk queue where an engineer is required to attend site
  • Review and approve operational quality of system equipment

Ideally you will have:

  • Previous experience in a similar role that allowed you to build and develop your wide range of IT skills and knowledge
  • Excellent hands-on experience with PC’s, Laptop’s and Windows Tablet hardware that will allow you to build, configure, setup and install devices, and to troubleshoot issues with hardware and Windows operating systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and deployments, as well as their suite of on-line services including M365, Teams as well as deployment and management tools Intune and Autopilot
  • Experience providing technical support with Windows, MS Server, Azure, O365, AD, Exchange, Hardware, MS Teams and more
  • Worked with a variety of LAN technologies including cabled local area networks, Wi-Fi networks.
  • Great customer service focus and excellent interpersonal skills
  • The ability to communicate clearly - both verbally and in writing
