This is a hands-on role at intermediate level, to contribute to our mobile apps within a collaborative startup environment working on a leading IoT SaaS platform. Your mission is to help our worldwide aviation customers ensure the safety of their aircraft, crew and passengers; in doing so you will help save lives.
Responsibilities
- Development - Hands-on software development, engineering and deployment.
- Technology - Collaborate with your team to help define the architecture and technical designs for our cloud platform and API solutions.
- Product operations - Ensure technology solutions are operationally ready and supportable in the long-term.
- Practices - Continually seek to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our engineering practices.
- Projects - Participate in projects to deliver new functionality and maintain existing systems
Requirements
- Experience programming in Java and Kotlin to develop Android applications.
- Experience with consuming third - party APIs in Android development projects.
- Experience with multi-threading and memory management specific to mobile devices.
- Proficient in Android Application Framework and Android SDK Tools.
- Worked in an Agile environment
Beneficial experience
- Google Maps API, Push Notifications, Coroutines, Retrofit, Firebase, Fastlane, Google Cloud Messaging, Bluetooth, Protobuf or AWS Mobile SDK
- Network calls and background multithreading using RxJava, Retrofit and AsyncTask.
- Creation of unit and integration testing suites developed with Mockito and Espresso.
- Continuous integration practices (Tools like Concourse and Github Actions)
