We are on the hunt for a new Deli, Café and Meal Solutions Specialist to join the team and use your business acumen and knowledge of best practice in a deli environment to add value to our stores all over the Lower North Island.About the roleAs a true specialist in your field, you’ll call upon your technical and operational expertise to identify opportunities, strengths, priorities and development needs then coach and mentor teams through both hands on in department work and distance support to Deli Managers across your portfolio to promote excellence in category performance and deliver growth. There is frequent travel required for this role where you are away from your home base area for days at a time. About youWith a passion for all things deli and an operational awareness of retail deli, you’ll have a good knowledge of deli offerings, including value add creation.As a seasoned retail deli manager, you’ll bring to the table:· Strong problem-solving and ability to plan and manage your time effectively · Excellent written and verbal communication · Ability to build relationships to coach and mentor · Strong retail background to support mentoring and coaching · Full drivers' licence· A good knowledge of speciality charcuterie, cheese and deli products, meal solutions including food to go, cook to order, cabinet foods and meal kits· Coffee/barista skills, juicing, smoothies and café operational knowledge· Recipe building and development including costing and testing· Production scheduling and management· A good awareness of food trends internationally as well as locally· SAP Knowledge· Financial awareness and ability to put it into use as an effective tool· Good working knowledge of current food safety management relating to Deli, CafeWhat’s in it for youIn return, we offer a competitive salary package including subsidised health insurance, flexible working, free parking, participation in the company superannuation fund, birthday leave and long service leave!
