About the role Working across our Retail Banners, you’ll provide expert knowledge across the Fresh Produce Category. With your ability to influencing and engage a range of stakeholders, you’ll drive sales and performance across the category. With a true strategic mind-set, you’ll determine and achieve strategic goals through effective category planning and forecasting, contributing towards managing supplier relationships, pricing, promotional activities, range management and product maintenance. About you With a commercial mind-set you’ll have an in-depth understanding of Category/Account Management in FMCG or retail, ideally in Fresh Produce. Not afraid to get into the detail you’ll work collaboratively and effectively to plan, organise and operate the category ensuring we’re reaching hitting financial targets, unlocking growth and using customer insights. Keys to your success in the role will also include:· Strong understanding and/or a real passion for Fresh Produce· An analytical way of thinking with and an affinity for the numbers · Methodical approach to managing the administration of a large category Because of the nature of the product, travel is required. On average, you could be out of town two to three days a month depending on where growers are based and make daily visits to the produce markets in Palmerston North.
