We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Bar Attendant/Mixologist to join us in a full time role (30+ hours) at The Lane bar and restaurant on Salisbury Street.

This fun and busy service role will suit someone who has previous bartending experience, a passion for exceeding guest expectations and is comfortable working in a fast paced environment.


Who We Are - Ko Wai Matou

The Lane is a modern, all-day Canterbury bistro serving up delicious, relaxed fare. The Lane’s menu is a collaboration between chefs Max Perry and Samson Stewart - the talented culinary duo behind 5th Street, one of Christchurch's most popular and successful restaurants - and The Lane’s kitchen team headed by Troy Tolentino.


Responsibilities | Nga haepapa

  • Preparation of various alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks
  • Provide a warm, engaging and personalized experience for all of our guest
  • Preparation of the bar amp; restaurant for a successful service
  • Seating guests, taking orders and delivering exceptional service at all times
  • Taking external and internal phone inquiries and delivery of room service
  • Ensuring a positive resolution and follow up with any guest complaints
  • Settling guest accounts

Requirements

About you | Ko koe tenei

  • Experience in a similar role
  • A good pre-existing knowledge of wines, beers and cocktails
  • Barista experience advantageous
  • Outstanding communication and customer service skills, with good attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, spot and resolve problems efficiently
  • Willing to go the extra mile to ensure guests make the most of their day
  • Exceptional grooming and hygiene standards
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts
  • Valid Right to Work in NZ
