Job Description

Our Engineering team is growing and we are looking to add an additional Engineering Manager to our leadership team. Are you an experienced leader who has led multiple squads and tech team leads? Do you have proven ability to influence Product teams and drive engineering excellence? The goal is to provide your cross-functional squads with the tools and technologies to deploy services independently while at the same time partner with our existing Engineering Manager to develop and maintain shared services that are cross-cutting over multiple teams.

This role will be reporting to the Chief Technology Officer but will also be working closely with other Engineering leaders and working in an Agile environment. There will be a focus on enabling software engineers to build scalable applications with high quality, speed and performance. This will mean figuring out common problems, understanding developer pain points and friction areas that cause slow down development, using both quantitative and qualitative data to drive decision making.

This is a leadership role which will have a combination of getting things done through others and some technical hands-on work. You will be involved in creating a world class product with involvement in all aspects of the product lifecycle. A key component of this role is acting as an enabler of Product Engineering teams, assisting them to get their solutions deployed to different cloud environments, and enabling them to have the tools to monitor the performance of their solutions once live.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of Engineering Management experience (or equivalent engineering leadership experience), leading lead tech team leads and multiple squads.
  • You'll have boat loads of initiative and enjoy being proactive, you are able to quickly identify pragmatic solutions
  • Communication will be a key strength, you'll be able work effectively with people from cross-functional areas amp; be skilled at establishing cohesive business-centric solutions
  • You enjoy collaborating amp; motivating people, doing 1:1's, coaching, mentoring. You know how to get the best out of people and what makes them 'tick'.
  • You've worked in a SaaS environment where being laser-focussed on prioritization of work streams is essential
  • You have good knowledge of software architecture principles and design patterns
  • You're well versed in Agile - comfortable leading Sprint planning meetings.
