About The Role - Te mahi

We are looking for an Executive Housekeeping Manager to lead our team of Supervisors, Room Attendants and Public Area Cleaners in our very busy Auckland City hotel.

In order to succeed as an Executive Housekeeping Manager in todays climate, you should be resilient and have the ability to think critically and efficiently. You should be a skilled communicator with excellent problem solving, observation, and interpersonal skills. Your management style should be confident and caring, firm but fair and above all else, results focused.

This role forms part of the Management team and a level of reporting and understanding Profit and Loss statements is required. The role is critical to the business therefore previous experience is essential.

The hotel consists of 186 guest rooms, a ground floor level restaurant, bar, lobby and reception, and a bar and conference rooms on the 10th floor.

The Executive Housekeeping Manager is a permanent fulltime role based at Sudima Auckland City. The salary range is $75K to $80K depending on experience.


Responsibilities:

  • Hiring and training staff to provide excellent service to customers.
  • With the Housekeeping team, you'll develop, review and maintain service quality within Sudima brand standards
  • You'll work on rosters, SOP’s, ordering of stock, payroll, the strategies and implementation of those for the housekeeping.
  • Drive our vision, mission, objectives and values with a culture of taking initiative
  • Leading and motivating staff
  • Monitoring team and individual performance
  • Ensuring cleanliness standards are met
  • Attend Head of Department meetings and briefings
  • Profit and Loss reporting and budgeting
  • We are looking for someone who is flexible with their availability to be successful, you will need to be able to work a typical hospitality roster and that means covering weekends and public holidays if required

Requirements

  • Housekeeping or management experience is essential
  • Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work during peak hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Effectively delegate responsibilities and maximize resources.
  • Have sound understanding of all housekeeping areas including, public areas, rooms and staff facilities
  • Experience ordering stock, creating rosters and processing payroll.
  • Proven ability in leading a team.
  • Training and development the team to achieve hotel standards.
  • A high level of organisation, time management and problem-solving skills.
