Reporting to the Operations Facilities Manager, the Grounds and Facilities Maintenance Assistant will maintain landscapes of visitor accessible area, main sites, remote properties and remote vineyards including driveways, courtyards, gardens, lawns and parking. You will help to maintain existing and future native and biodiversity planting programmes.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Maintenance of visitor accessible areas including driveways, courtyards, decking, parking, lawn, and gardens.
- Maintenance of main site surrounding landscape beyond the immediately accessible areas.
- Maintenance of remote vineyards appearance.
- Maintenance of remote properties appearance.
- Help to maintain existing and future native and biodiversity planting programmes over all sites.
- Assist with the further development of gardens and surrounding in hard and soft landscaping.
- Assist in maintenance of outlining houses and their surroundings.
- Assist in maintaining firewood (gathering, storage and supply) for company solid fuel fires.
- Under the direction of the OFM help maintain and develop props and equipment for functions and events such as wine and food festivals.
Requirements
- A good knowledge of the fundamentals of horticulture, light building, and handy person experience
- Forklift, heavy trade (2,4, W) licenses preferred
- First Aid
- Growsafe
- Knowledge of winery and vineyard machinery and equipment
- A good fundamental knowledge of amenity horticulture or similar
- Experience in a multi department environment
