Farm Assistant (Part Time)

Job Description
We are Moxham Milk, also known as Udderly Organic, based 10 minutes north of Levin in the small settlement of Koputaroa. We operate two fully certified organic farms, with 550 cows milked in 2 herds through a 54-bale rotary shed. As a team we value hard work, trust each other, and have a fantastic work ethic. To us, you are part of the family.
Roster: Working Thursday to Sunday all year round.
Accommodation: There is no accommodation with this role, you will need to live in the area with a reliable car and full license.
As a Farm Assistant, you’ll be working closely with our Farm manager and 2IC in all aspects of our farm:
- Milk production
- Animal health and hygiene
- Calving
- Mating
- Health and Safety
- Repairs and maintenance
- Monitoring amp; recording
- Stock handling
- Feeding out/ Break feeding
- Shed cleaning
- Fencing and weed control
Some experience would be handy but not vital as all farm related tasks can be taught. A strong work ethic is actually more important. You must have a NZ Residency with full work eligibility, a full and current NZ Driver’s Licence, be physically fit and able to pass a drug test. You’ll be known to others as approachable, and a forward thinker who is committed to being on farm and completing work as much as your colleagues.
