About the Role

Datacom Cloud build and manage cloud products for major enterprises and government organisations across Australia and New Zealand. We are a Product business and as such are driven by customer demand and market insight. Within the wider product function we deliver our Digital Experience (DX). The digital experience is critical as this is the interface to our wider product portfolio. Our customers consume, manage and pay our products through the various digital experiences we deliver.

The Datacom Cloud Digital Experience (DX) squad is rapidly transforming the way our customers consume and experience our Cloud Management platforms, products and platforms. To achieve our strategic goals of scalability and flexibility we are transforming rapidly with an API first microservice experience, allowing for workflows to be built across multiple products and systems.

We’re at an exciting point in this journey where joining the DX squad will see you achieving rapid progress of greenfield solutions, while being able help define the vision and architecture of the future.

What you’ll bring

We are looking for a natural leader, a visionary, someone who can translate complexity into simple language. Someone who is adept at collaboration and stakeholder management. You are able to work and collaborate at a senior level, understand the wider business vision and translate that into our DX vision

Above all we are looking for a product led software expert who can take ownership of this initiative from a technical and team leadership level. As well as a software expert you also consider yourself a key owner of the product direction, and joint organisational vision, with a strong influence on the Digital Experience that our customers see. As a key member of the DX squad you will help to support and encourage the team through the definition, development, and management of an ecosystem of APIs and applications.

We are interested in a candidate with specific expertise in:

  • Java amp; JavaScript development
  • API development amp; maintenance practices
  • Microservice architecture amp; deployment experience
  • Product management frameworks
  • At least 5 years’ experience in software development
  • At least 5 years’ experience delivering digital, user facing products
  • People Leader experience (over 3 years)
  • Agile professional

Responsibilities

  • A natural team player and thought leader who can lead by example in an environment where trying and iterating early are encouraged.
  • Ability to communicate our technical vision and strategy to other stakeholders within the organisation.
  • Ability to lead and support the team through the unknowns of API amp; microservice development based on experience in these areas.
  • Someone who is motivated by seeing those around them succeed and thrive.
  • Own and drive the Digital Experience engagement process through running Human Centred Design forums with various internal and external stakeholders. Ensure our digital innovation is fully aligned to our overall Purpose, Vision and business Strategy.
  • Blue-sky thinking / Exploring the whitespace through continuous customer engagement lead design aligned with improving our digital posture
  • Going from idea to product utilising our people, market expertise and industry/customer insights
  • Drive the Digital experience strategy and ensure the backlog prioritisations are aligned with the business strategy.
  • Support Product Managers, Sales Enablement, Sales and wider stakeholders to better understand our customers future requirements. Present feedback and outputs from HCD sessions to help craft our ongoing product roadmaps.
