About the role:

This role is primarily responsible for providing business partnering support to Data Centre Operations and Data Centre Construction at CDC New Zealand. The role is also responsible for the administration of the Work Health amp; Safety system in New Zealand and support to the wider HSE team for policy and procedural development.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Work collaboratively towards your Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) as agreed with management
  • Working with key Managers to build and implement Work Health amp; Safety (WHS) solutions in line with business strategy
  • Managing the delivery of recommendations and solutions covering specific areas of WHS including, Workers’ Compensation, accidents and injuries investigation, corrective and preventative measures, organisational facility inspections, while complying with local, state and federal rules and regulations
  • Identifying areas of long-term strategic development within the WHS environment
  • Providing interpretation and counsel to Managers regarding WHS policies, programs and practices
  • Researching issues and developing solutions to resolve strategic WHS issues.
  • Developing and implementing new WHS policies, practices and programs to meet organisational and Executive/Strategic Management needs
  • Teach, coach and lead people at all levels of CDC to accomplish the company’s WHS goals
  • Model Leadership behaviours that serve as an example to all people leaders in the business with regard to hazard awareness and compliance to WHS procedures by never just walking by
  • Closely work with clients where practical to align the safety goals of the company and the client groups
  • Participate in Information amp; Security management tasks as required
  • Embrace and model CDC’s DNA
  • Other duties as directed from time to time
About you:
  • Management, leadership, team building, consulting, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
  • Expert knowledge of NZ Health and Safety legislation and WHS best practice.
  • Experience in Civil Construction, Data Centres, Utilities or Energy Distribution
  • Strong relationship management and influencing skills
  • Excellent communication skills and highly service orientated
  • Knowledge of current employment legislation and ‘Employer of Choice’ practices.
  • Business partnering capability
  • Ability to interact at an executive/strategic level

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in construction work, utilities, data centres or other critical infrastructure operations

Desirable Skills:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Work Health and Safety
  • Incident Investigation training
