Job Description

Catch is on the hunt for another UX/UI Designer to join our team in Auckland.

We design, build and support award-winning digital products, campaigns, tools and services for some of New Zealand’s biggest and best brands in the private and public sector, helping them establish, grow and nurture their connections with customers. Our goal is to create digital experiences that make the complex easy.

As a UX/UI Designer, you'll be well organised, an excellent listener and a creative thinker. You'll have worked agency side and understand the ins and outs of working across multiple brands and building strong relationships with colleagues.

You care about the technical implementation, user experience and everything in between, yet realistic and have the ability to balance innovative ideas, deadlines and budget to ensure projects stay on track and client outcomes are consistently met.

This is a client-facing design role, which means you'll forge strong relationships with all our clients and their key stakeholders. You have strong written, facilitating and presentation skills, great interpersonal and intrapersonal skills and the ability to articulate ideas to internal and external audiences.

At Catch, we place the value and power of design at the very top of our list of attributes. Design is in our name so it would be hard not to. We also don’t take culture lightly. We believe that focusing on our people is our number one priority, as this ultimately shapes who we are. We do what we can to find people that share our values. Essentially, we know that if our people are happy, they produce great work, which makes our clients happy. It’s a really simple equation.

Requirements

This means you must anticipate customers and business needs, advocate for end users and ensure that the final experience surprises and delights. And all this starts with knowing what questions to ask in order to know what problems you're trying to solve on any given project.

You are detailed oriented, you stress the pixels above and below the fold. You'll have an strong understanding of UX design principles and methodologies, and should possess excellent visual and end user interface design skills, as well as human-centred design principals. You'll also have experience creating and maintaining design systems and pattern libraries, applied across web and mobile, as well as ideating, designing, prototyping and shipping digital products.

If you're interested in applying, we want to see real examples of your research and critical thinking, and human-centred designs that incorporate interaction, animation, visual concepts, typography and imagery. You should have at least 3 years experience working within an agency and business.
