Job Description


Switched On Housing is looking for an experienced Senior Operations Manager/General Manager to join our team in the Hawkes Bay Office. Your previous experience will see you contribute positively to the success of our Maintenance Partnership (Te Mahi Ngatahi) with Kainga Ora.

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer your will lead our teams in Gisborne, Hawkes Bay and Palmerston North, providing direction across these multi-site delivery teams. You will be responsible for all contractual, operational, assurance and customer experience functions and activities of Te Mahi Ngatahi.

Pulling on your leadership experience you will be able to lead and inspire your leadership team. You will be able to rally the teams, pivot and adjust operational functions to ensure we are meeting our KPI targets

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Provide astute tactical and operational leadership to your direct reports
  • Lead a high performance, continuous improvement culture
  • Build and maintain key relationships with Kainga Ora
  • Develop, maintain, and manage the wider team culture to ensure it aligns with business values
  • Deliver to forecasted targets quarter on quarter
  • Supporting the overall strategy of the business

We work with in a complex and dynamic environment, it requires some one who can be fluid and flexible while maintaining the Switched On purpose and values at all times

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in Senior/Executive leadership role
  • Experience working with in a medium-large scale complex business
  • Leadership and influencing skills
  • Experience within the Construction industry or similar
  • Demonstrated ability to understand organisational context and develop a future focused tactical plan through to execution.
  • Well-rounded individual who is collaborative and team orientated, yet prepared to challenge their team.
