About The Role - Te mahi

An exciting new opportunity at Sudima Queenstown Five Mile has become available and we are looking for experienced Famp;B professionals to join our team. Sudima Queenstown Five Mile opened in December 2021 and is a 4.5-star hotel in the conveniently located in the Five Mile retail precinct.

Podium restaurant offers a flavourful dining experience and is the perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal or relax with a drink, both can be enjoyed in the outdoor mezzanine with mountain views

Working with our Food amp; Beverage Management team, you will be responsible to lead your team to deliver exemplary service in our Famp;B outlets with a particular focus on Restaurant and Conferencing.


Responsibilities | Nga haepapa

  • Lead the food and beverage service team (including Supervisors and Attendants) across all food and beverage outlets including room service, restaurant, bar and conference
  • Open and close outlets ensuring effective set up and organisation for shifts
  • Create a positive team environment
  • Ensure all team members deliver a high level of guest service at all times
  • Daily banking and cash up
  • Organise cover of team members when required
  • Support training and development of food and beverage team including onboarding
  • Oversee the setting up of conference rooms to required standards

Requirements

Ideally you will have experience in a similar role, a passion for exceeding our diners expectations and great knowledge of beverages. We are looking for someone who is passionate and has the enthusiasm that will inspire a team of restaurant and beverage superstars to deliver on point.

This is a hands on role which requires leadership skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure whilst leading a busy restaurant and bar team to ensure exceptional service.

The successful candidate will have experience as a Famp;B Team Leader/Supervisor and you will be conversant with Sale of Liquor responsibilities. We appreciate and value every one of our team members, and the person in this position will demonstrate true leadership skills by encouraging and supporting the team through their chosen career.


  • Experienced in a la carte and buffet restaurant service
  • Excellent knowledge of local wines, beers and cocktail preparation
  • Conference Coordination experience preferred
  • Experienced in set up of conferences and conference service including use of conferencing IT software
  • Previous relevant experience - ideally 1-2 years in a supervisor or team leader role
  • Exudes attentive, friendly and professional service
  • Competent barista
  • Highly organised and plans ahead
  • Availability on weekends, public holidays and late evenings
  • Current Managers Licence or willing to obtain
  • Candidates must already have the legal right to work in New Zealand to be considered for the role


The wage range for this role is $26-$27 per hour and the role will be based at Sudima Queenstown Five Mile, 20 Grant Road, Frankton.
