About The Role - Te mahi

Sudima Queenstown is a new 4.5-star hotel in the bustling Frankton area conveniently located in the Five Mile retail precinct. with views of the surrounding landscapes, high quality fit-out, well-appointed rooms, restaurant, bar and conference facilities.

We are currently seeking experienced applicants to join our team to produce creative and innovative gourmet dishes.

This is role would suit applicants who thrive in a busy Kitchen environment and are keen to learn and grow their skills and experience in a great team.


Responsibilities | Nga haepapa

  • Produce excellent quality dishes to brand standards for the restaurant, bar, conferencing and room service on a day to day basis
  • Organising the shift, placing orders, prep completion and supporting the team to ensure the kitchen is always well prepared, clean and hygienic for each shift
  • Support the Head Chef amp; Senior Chefs and where appropriate guide junior kitchen team members
  • Offer flexibility with dietary needs and ensure excellent food hygiene and safety standard are adhered to
  • Foster a great team environment of cooperation and respect between co-workers


Requirements

  • 1-2 years chef experience in a busy a la carte and buffet operation, ideally within hotels
  • Qualified culinary degree/certificate
  • Flexible to work rostered shifts, including weekends, nights and public holidays.
  • Multi-tasking, excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Open communication skills
  • Passion for cooking
  • Excellent food and hygiene standards
  • Candidates must already have the legal right to work in New Zealand to be considered for the role
  • This role is required to be performed by a COVID-19 vaccinated worker in line with our company COVID-19 policy, where all workers amp; contractors are required to be vaccinated. As a mixed hospitality environment all our outlets and worksites require guests and visitors over 12 years and 3 months to present a valid vaccine pass (MVP) to gain entry.
