About The Role | Te Mahi

Come and join our South Island team as a Talent and Culture Advisor supporting the new Sudima Queenstown Five Mile Hotel. We are looking for an experienced hospitality "people person" with some generalist HR skills to be based at Sudima Queenstown Five Mile to assist providing people support to the operational managers and staff. This is an excellent family / work life balance role, with flexible working options involving 30 hours a week. The role will report to the Hotel Manager and Regional Talent amp; Culture Manager - South Island.

Responsibilities | Nga haepapa

  • First point on contact for care and support to managers and employees through timely and accurate actions
  • Developing and maintaining strong interdepartmental relationships in order to facilitate a high level of trust and engagement
  • Ensure outstanding recruitment, onboarding and training practices are carried out in the hotel
  • Provide a high level of professionalism and competence in all employee matters and processes
  • Coordination of training programmes in the hotel as required
  • Liaison with hospitality tertiary institutes raising brand awareness amp; attracting new talent and industry placements
  • Encourage and sustain our culture of inclusion and sustainability at all times
  • With the support of the Regional Talent and Culture Manager, ensure that HR practices in the hotel are in line with current employment legislation
  • Work with the Health amp; Safety function for the hotel, escalating matters as appropriate
  • Provide Immigration support letters to employees as required

Requirements

About you | Ko koe tenei

  • Excellent communication, care and engagement with people
  • Hospitality industry knowledge with some experience in people management, recruitment, team building and onboarding of employees
  • Friendly and helpful in character, to positively build a great culture at the hotel
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, team player, with attention to detail
  • Some recent New Zealand experience in a HR generalist position would be advantageous, however the role will be supported by the Regional Talent and Culture Manager for the South Island
  • System savvy, proficient in MS Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Ability to collect, manage and secure information in line with Privacy Act 2020
  • Ability to support and coach managers in sometimes challenging situations
  • Experience with HRIS and cloud recruitment software would be beneficial
  • Previous hotel experience would be advantageous
