Job Description

BRON Digital, is a state-of-the-art virtual production and service company, that utilizes the Unreal Engine to develop and produce long-form animation for series television, short-form content, and motion pictures. This division leverages BRON’s extensive experience producing traditional CGI animation to apply and adapt the best practices of linear animation pipelines and marry those with Unreal Engine centered, virtual production workflows. The move allows BRON to broaden and expand its production and produce high quality content with much faster turnarounds.

We are seeking a UE4 Lighting Artist to join our Lighting Department. Whether you are looking for fixed-term employment or a freelance gig, check us out!

Requirements

Role amp; Responsibilities
  • Light to create mood and atmosphere based on artistic direction and story-telling requirements
  • Work to meet Production deadlines
  • Work with Technical Directors to assist with creating Lighting-specific tools and features
  • Make any changes requested in an iterative intensive pipeline
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to look into the causes of any technical or artistic issues that might arise
  • Debug and optimize lighting scenarios as required
  • Render shots as required
  • Address fixes and notes to shots

Qualifications

  • At least one of the following:
    • Experience in Film/TV Animation or VFX industries
    • Industry experience on a AAA or independent video game
    • Degree/Diploma in Fine Arts, Film, or Animation or other relevant discipline
  • Lighting experience in Unreal Engine or an equivalent game engine (e.g. Unity/Frostbite)
  • Excellent understanding of color, materials, mood, space and the properties of light
  • An interest in Photography and Cinematography
  • Experience with Maya or Blender or equivalent DCC is a plus
  • Experience in compositing is a plus
  • Knowledge of an asset manager such as Shotgun is a plus
  • Experience of Deadline or equivalent Render Manager is a plus
  • Knowledge of Virtual Production concepts and techniques is a plus
  • Experience in scripting is also a plus but not required
  • The ability to learn and adapt quickly
  • An open and proactive communication style
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work on own initiative
