Job Description

Our Data and Insights practice specialises in business intelligence strategy, consulting and implementation in order to deliver complete, versatile BI/DW solutions allowing customers to make the most of their data.

We are now looking for an experienced Lead Data Engineer - MS On-Prem to join this high performing team based in our Tauranga office and we are open to those seeking either permanent or contracting opportunities.

In this role you will work closely with customers, using your extensive experience to analyse, design and develop data and analytics solutions and projects.

The skills and experience required are:

  • In-depth hands-on work experience with large-scale implementations of Microsoft Analytics solutions, using SSIS/SSRS/SSAS
  • End-to-end architecture, design and implementation of on-prem Microsoft Data Warehouses
  • In-depth hands-on work experience with Power BI
  • Experience and knowledge of the Azure technology stack including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, ADC, ADF, Data Lake, Cosmos, Insights, Azure Data Bricks, Azure SQL DW, Azure Synapse Analytics, PowerApps, LogicApps, Azure Data Factory would be an advantage
  • Experience implementing DevOps/DataOps solutions is an advantage
  • Practical understanding of the various data ingestions options for on premises or external data sources
  • Strong background and experience in all aspects of Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence implementations
  • Proven experience implementing the Power BI suite of products including data manipulation using Power Query, report and dashboard design
  • Experience with other data visualisation tools such as Qlik or Tableau
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to learn new information quickly
  • Strong architecture design and modelling, written and oral skills
  • Excellent communication, documentation and relationship management abilities
  • Strong time management and co-ordination skills
  • Expert knowledge of MS Office suite (incl. MS Project)
  • Focus on delivering high quality solutions that meet customer needs
  • Experience with Dimensional modelling, Kimball Design as well as Data Vault design
  • Microsoft SQL Server DBA experience
  • Excellent communication skills- both verbal and written
  • Extensive consulting experience and a high level of commercial awareness
  • Good problem solving and relationship management skills
