About the Role

As the Team Lead in our Integration team, you’ll be leading, coaching and supporting a small team of software engineers on their individual projects and professional journey to help develop their skills and knowledge. The Team Lead MuleSoft will work closely with other Leads and Managers within the wider Integration and Digital Engineering teams to help drive better ways of working, improving and/or implementing internal processes and assist in the hiring and onboarding process of new staff members.

The core objectives and responsibilities of a Team Lead include:

  • Performing software development duties.
  • Assisting in the creation of technical designs and functional specifications.
  • Managing a small team of developers to ensure your direct reports grow in their responsibilities, capabilities, and contribution to their team and within the organisation.
  • Providing technical expertise and recommendations
  • Testing / Quality assurance - Making sure deliverables are on time and of high quality.
  • Troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms and identify necessary modifications.
  • Provide support for clients/projects - Participate in new developments and investigation/resolution of existing issues.
  • Ensure your direct reports’ performance is reviewed regularly, and feedback is continually provided in a timely manner.
  • Provide mentoring and coaching to your direct reports through regular one-one-one’s, catch-ups, and coaching sessions.
  • Carrying out line management tasks such as timesheet, expense and leave approvals in a timely manner.

What you’ll bring

You are a motivated, and empathetic individual with good interpersonal skills. Ideally you’ll have some leadership experience mentoring, leading, and coaching a team. You are also well versed across agile practices and environments and have an excellent grasp of modern software development practices and lifecycle. Paramount to your success is your ability to navigate areas of conflict in an open, positive, and proactive way.

You are able to demonstrate strong commitment to continuous improvement and develop innovative and creative solutions that add value to Datacom and its customers. You have a proven track record in openly sharing knowledge, providing meaningful advice.

Supporting technical requirements for this role:

  • Senior development experience with MuleSoft product offerings, especially Anypoint Platform
    • Development following API-Led Connectivity Approach and MUnit
    • Familiarity with different MuleSoft deployment models (cloud and on-premise)
  • Strong integration development background
    • API and Service Modelling, including design, specification, and implementation
  • API design, specification (incl. RAML and OpenAPI specification), and security
  • Holder of MuleSoft certifications
  • In-depth experience with implementing API, ESB, or SOA based solutions
  • Energetic and passionate about technology and learning new skills and tools, have strong communication skills (written and verbal) and be a team player.
