Use your commercial experience to help grow New Zealand companies internationally bigger better and faster for the good of New Zealand. The successful candidate for this role will manage a variety of customers across our manufacturing portfolio.

What you'll be doing: Te whakamahereThis is a senior role that involves developing strong credible relationships with a diverse portfolio of our customers - NZ specialised manufacturing export businesses based in Northland (largely Whangarei) and managing our regional business community relationships. Your focus will be on networking locally, being the voice of NZTE within the wider Northland business and council community and working with customers in various stages of their export journey with a healthy pipeline of customers due to enter your portfolio.
You will also use your excellent listening and influencing skills to engage with your customers to plan and deliver a work programme which strengthens their confidence and capability to export internationally. You will be a natural problem solver, be self-disciplined and have a good understanding of the complexities of international business to help guide your customers in their journey.
Your experience may have been gained from within the Manufacturing industry however, this is not a deal breaker as your dynamic learning ability, interest and drive to help them succeed is more important to us.
What you'll need to be successful: O PukengaYou will bring strong knowledge of scaling export businesses internationally, ideally with experience within the Manufacturing sector. You will be enthusiastic, resilient and a great communicator that can easily build rapport by developing strong, and trusted relationships. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and connect with the broader NZTE team will be paramount.
The successful person for this role will need to be truly customer centric, including being collaborative and have an outcome-focused working style combined with the ability to problem solve and connect your customers to the right experts to address challenges and raise opportunities. You will cover a region from Matakana to The Far North and regular travel to Auckland will be required to connect with your team. An understanding of te ao Maori and tikanga is valued.
