About our Internships at Serko:
You'll be reporting to the Intern Manager and are part of a wider team of Intern Software Engineers, Product Managers, Tech Leads, working within the Intern Value Stream.
You'll be taking part in various activities, designed to enhance your exposure into what it's like to be part of a high performing team, delivering a world class product. We are dedicated to increasing your learning experience, providing workshops, mentoring and project related hands on exposure to - Daily stand ups, retrospectives, project initiation, planning, design, and discovery sessions.
You’ll be:
- Networking with other Interns, Engineers, Product Designers, and Analysts
- Learning about Serko’s culture and values
- Getting a hands on overview of our Ways of Working within Product Delivery
- Kicking off with 2 week's of workshops that will prepare you for the intern project
- Building services using .NET
- Building a front end using React
- Automated testing (unit, API, and integration level)
- Working with the latest front-end technology, including the most recent versions of React, Material UI, Google Tag Manager
- Learning about DevOps and use Azure DevOps to build and deploy
- Creating monitoring and alerting using Sumo Logic, New Relic, and Pager Duty
- Working within a cross functional team that includes support from Principal Engineering, Product Management, UX Design and other engineers
- Gaining experience in variety of engineering practices and principles
- Supported by two dedicated Software Engineering Mentors for each intern
- Additional mentoring from the Product Team on Product Delivery
- Ongoing Friday Learning Days that continue to grow your knowledge about software engineering
- and product delivery
- Getting to be part of a fun work environment that includes all you can drink expresso/soft drinks/other beverages, free snacks, pool table and table tennis
- Learning how to create a CV that contains the info employers look for and how to prepare for interviews
We’ve created a great onboarding experience for our interns, to ensure you get everything you need to ramp up quickly and hit the ground running, ensuring your success during your 10 week internship with us. This means the first 2 weeks is ALL about workshops that will teach you all the skills you need to deliver the project successfully! You’ll also get to meet and greet with our CTO and learn about how modern software companies operate on a GLOBAL SCALE!
