As a Fergus summer intern you will be part of our hardworking and super agile team, working on real projects which result in real-life improvements to our customers and their working lives. Be a part of the team making an impact to the delivery of our software products globally.
We have an ambitious plan as we continue to scale up and enter new markets so if you are a talented engineering student who is motivated by our vision of creating the world's most loved SaaS platform for tradies then we want you!
From contributing to the creation of a brand new app to using insights to prioritise future feature development, we have plenty of exciting projects which will offer many learning opportunites.
You will get to be part of an engineering squad with collaboration with our UX, Design, QA and Product functions.

Here's what you will be working with:
- Typescript amp; Javascript
- AWS
- Docker and Linux
- Swagger OpenAPI and development of REST services
- SQL and non-SQL databases
- Unit and behaviour testing
Our recruitment process is pretty simple. We have a couple of interviews, the first around technical competence, the second we focus on our company values and your alignment to those.
Requirements
- Applicants must be studying Science, Engineering or Technology at a New Zealand tertiary education institution;
- Be studying at NZQA level 7-10: Doctoral Degree, Master’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree; Bachelor Honours Degree; Graduate Diploma; Graduate Certificate, Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma; (Note: Diploma level 7 only); or if study has been completed the closing date of the last semester should be less than 12 months ago.
- Be legally permitted to work in New Zealand.
