The Role

Sudima Christchurch City is an award winning 5-star property in Salisbury Street, Central Christchurch. Due to an internal promotion, we are now seeking a Front Office Manager to lead our front office team to deliver exceptional 5 star service anticipating guest requirements and ensuring you make the most of their day.

Reporting to the Hotel Manager, this is a busy role leading a team of Night Staff, Duty Managers, Chief Concierge and porters and guest service agents.

Responsibilities include

  • Leading a team including rostering, recruitment, training and development and onboarding
  • Ensuring our guests are provided with exceptional 5 star service - a WOW factor where the personal touch makes us stand out
  • Promptly handling any guest issues and ensuring an effective service recovery
  • Managing emergency procedures, sale of liquor and health and safety compliance, policies and procedures
  • Effective liaison with housekeeping, central reservations, maintenance, the restaurant, conference and Moss Spa
  • Effective team engagement ensuring an inclusive, happy and positive environment

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years as a Duty Manager and/or Night Manager
  • 5 star hotel experience preferred
  • Capable of managing Pamp;L and wage costs
  • Planning and organising skills and an ability to engage a small team
  • Ability to multi-task, show flexibility and meet deadlines, work under pressure.
  • General Managers License
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks
  • Excellent time management abilities
