Job Description

In this role, you will take responsibility for supporting the managers in the regions of the Lower North Island and South Island (therefore travel is required), including building and maintaining internal and external relationships and working in collaboration with regional teams to deliver excellent service. The objective of the role is to work proactively with line managers, enabling them to execute their legal obligations for SHE in line with continuous improvement in all areas of the business.

The successful candidate can be based in Wellington or Christchurch.

In this role you will be:

  • Implementing our safety management system and associated training across the business
  • Engaging and partnering with your stakeholders to drive a culture of safety across your regions so that it is part of our normal business processes
  • Ensuring the timely delivery of advice and support to management and employees alike across a broad range of SHE issues
  • Supporting and coaching regional teams to identify and manage health, safety and well-being risk areas; ensuring that identified issues and key projects are integrated into the business and regional SHE plans; and developing and delivering SHE training
  • Complete audits, investigations and provide accurate reports.

Requirements

To succeed in this role:

  • You will be passionate about promoting a Health and Safety culture
  • You'll have proven and sound SHE knowledge and experience in an advisory or coordination role in the service industry
  • You will have SHE qualification/s (certification or university degree) and previous return to work coordination experience
  • You'll also be a confident communicator who has the ability to communicate with a diverse internal stakeholder base
  • You will have a high standard of personal presentation, a desire to succeed, strong organisation skills and a solution-oriented focus;
  • And you will possess a strong work ethic, a sense of humour, a passion for customer service, and enjoy and share the thrills of winning as a team.
