We are looking for an experienced Laboratory Technician for our Blenheim site, looking for their next career step. You will be mentored by the Laboratory Manager to become familiar with the standards and general duties of Cloudy Bay’s Laboratory with the objective to grow into the Laboratory Manager role in the near future.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Performing accurate and precise laboratory analysis of grape samples, juice, ferments, wine as per the laboratory analysis schedule and as requested;
- Performing microbiology analysis skills and reporting the results to the Laboratory Manager and Winemakers;
- Assessing the accuracy of the laboratory equipment and comparing data with other laboratories in the region - country;
- Training and supervising any employees needing to complete analysis for operational or quality purposes;
- Keeping record of data and improving the efficiency of data entry thanks to numeric tools;
- Being up to date with the most appropriate testing procedures as well as local and international analysis testing systems advancements;
- Completing all required hazard/ risk assessments and following health amp; safety policies and procedures;
Requirements
In order to succeed in this position, you will have:
- Qualification in chemistry or food science;
- Several years of working experience in a laboratory environment with digital laboratory experience;
- A strong customer focus with an overall commitment to quality;
- Hands-on approach with a drive for accurate results;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Team orientation and leadership skills;
