Job Description

Who are we?

We’re Imagr and we’re leading the charge in creating superpowered automated retail technology with our end-to-end, AI powered checkout solution. Our goal is to revolutionise modern retail and make life easier for everyday people - with no checkouts and no queues.

How does this role fit in?

Your role delivers impact by ensuring the many complex pieces of our system come together to a quality we are proud of. You will be part of a small QA team providing validation and feedback on the operation of the different systems and services that deliver the best-in-class frictionless retail experience. Our technical environment encompasses bleeding-edge IoT and computer vision systems and you’ll be exposed to the emerging world of validating machine learning-based systems.

You will:

  • Provide black-box integration testing of the Imagr system
  • Plan, develop and implement testing that balances coverage with delivery timelines
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that production quality is achieved
  • Design and implement strategies to improve the efficiency of manual tests
  • Communicate faults clearly to development teams, and provide clear feedback on the quality of releases to engineering and product leads
  • Advocate for quality within the engineering team and wider business

You may be a good fit if:

  • You’re a QA Engineer with experience in system integration testing, documenting test plans, test cases and reporting bugs
  • You have the understanding of how to work in shell environments, on Linux-based systems and able to develop and maintain test scripts
  • Familiarity with API testing
  • You’re adept with linux, networking, microservices and database management with familiarity in tools such as TestRail, MySQL, Shell Scripting, JavaScript, Cypress, Postman and Jira
  • You can translate feature requirements into manual and automated test scripts
  • You have demonstrated experience in identifying and implementing opportunities to improve the quality and user experience with a range of testing methodologies
  • You enjoy working in an Agile, fast paced environment and your communication style is transparent, clear and collaborative

Ideally, you’ve had experience manually testing a range of POS, payment systems and mobile apps within a complex hardware amp; software technical environment

Our QA team (and our wider engineering team) take pride in their work, care deeply about the problems they're solving and have energy and enthusiasm for the work that they do. We're looking for someone who shares this same ethos.

We face a diverse range of problems here at Imagr, and we need a diverse team to solve them, so put forward your unique perspective and let's see where it takes us!

Not only do you get to work with a talented and passionate team on a groundbreaking product, but we'll also look after you. We can offer you a competitive salary, a comprehensive wellbeing programme that looks after your mental and physical health, an employee options scheme, shared lunch with the team on every Friday, and the opportunity to grow your career in a venture-backed tech company growing on an international scale.
