We have a highly collaborative software team - and are working on exciting new customer solutions in North America, Malaysia and Europe. To help drive our innovative software product solutions we are now looking for Embedded Software Developers to join our collaborative team.


About the Role
Located on Auckland’s North Shore, as a Software Engineer you will be responsible for building, maintaining and supporting platform-agnostic software solutions primarily using C++. With a commitment to delivering quality solutions on time and to agreed customer standards.

Your role will be involved with the following:

  • Application software development and documentation
  • Application product maintenance
  • Application design and architecture
  • Software development for PC and embedded systems (Linux and Windows)
  • Software testing
  • Systems integration
  • Development process and continuous improvement

About your experience

We are looking for someone with a proactive mindset, excellent communication skills, self-motivated and curious about all aspects of Software Engineering. You will be part of a high performing team that are passionate about their job and work hard to get projects across the line. Other requirements include:
  • Qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or equivalent practical experience
  • 10 years software development experience including architecture and development for PC and constrained environments (embedded)
  • Proficient in C / C++
  • Understanding of modern C++ techniques
  • Understand fundamentals of digital design and communication protocols such as: asynchronous, serial, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, Ethernet
  • Experience developing for POSIX/Linux and Windows environments on PC and embedded systems
  • Experience using embedded tools; compilers, debuggers, JTAG, protocol analysers, RTOS or OSes
  • Experience with Version Control Systems (Git/Subversion/etc)
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Experience with frameworks and library collections is a plus (eg Boost, Poco, ACE)
  • Experience in relevant domains would be advantageous eg Payments, Point Of Sale, Retail Fuel, Forecourt, Site Systems
