Job Description

We have a highly collaborative software team - and are working on exciting new customer solutions building highly innovative and complex products. We are looking for a Senior Embedded amp; Application Engineer to join our collaborative and inventive team.

About the role
Located on Auckland’s North Shore as a Senior Embedded amp; Application Engineer you will be responsible for building, maintaining and supporting embedded software solutions. With a commitment to delivering a quality solutions on time and to agreed customer standards. Your role will also involve:

  • Software development and documentation
  • Product maintenance
  • Design and Architecture
  • Electronic Hardware Integration
  • Software Testing
  • Development process and continuous improvement


About your experience

We are looking for someone with a proactive mindset, excellent communication skills, self-motivated and curious about all aspects of Embedded Engineering. You will be part of a high performing team that are passionate about their job and work hard to get projects across the line. Other requirements include:

  • Qualification in Engineering, Physics or equivalent practical experience
  • 10 years embedded software development experience within a constrained environment
  • An understanding of electronics; interpreting electronic schematics
  • Understand fundamentals of digital design and communication protocols such as; asynchronous, serial, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, Ethernet, SPI, I2C
  • Ability to use general electronic lab equipment; oscilloscope, protocol analyser, logic analyser
  • Proficient in C / C++ and Assembler languages
  • Experience using embedded tools; compilers, debuggers, JTAG, protocol analysers, RTOS or OSes
  • Experience with Version Control Systems (CVS / Subversion)
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
