Job Description
Are you a dedicated and passionate Support Engineer who loves to be hands-on resolving tricky issues and working as part of a team? We are looking for an experienced Platform Support Engineer to join our Service Desk team, this is a full-time role based at our head office in Wellington.
As an Intermediate Platform Support Engineer you will be involved in supporting our Silverstripe Cloud Platforms to ensure they continue to deliver reliable services for both our private and public sector customers. You’ll be the go-to support for our clients, ensuring their sites stay running smoothly. Your focus will be on delivering great, consistent customer experiences and helping our organisation grow.

Here are the specifics of what we’re after in an Intermediate Platform Support Engineer:
- 2+ years experience working in support based teams
- Practical, solid knowledge of at least one high-level programming language and of modern programming practices. Our customers predominantly use PHP, so knowing your way around it is a plus
- Demonstrable knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, web application security, and distributed systems
- Understanding of Linux, specifically Ubuntu and Debian
- Experience with configuration and automation tools such as Puppet and Ansible
- Track record of successful practical problem solving, excellent written and social communication, and documentation skills
- Able to embrace a collaborative, team-oriented Agile environment
- Experience with the Silverstripe or other MVC-based frameworks would be a great to have
- Experience with LAMP stacks is also a plus
- This role will involve on-call out of hours rotation.
