Requirements
We're scaling fast! We are currently looking for an Engineering Technical Leader to join our Engineering team. You will work with this team to grow and improve our existing product offering on web, iOS and Android applications.
Whip Around works closely with leading companies in the vehicle telematics industry and other technology companies in the broader industry. As such this role will lead the design and development of our new Integrations Platform.
Your responsibilities include:
- Technical leadership of our new API integration platform with strong understanding of solution architecture strategies to design and build to a very high standard.
- Strong experience with API integrations, authentication strategies, security, automated testing. Validate platform architecture and either use AWS services or Mulesoft.
- Good experience with branch management, devops and AWS infrastructure and all other key elements of building an effective integration platform.
- Strong experience with publishing a public API with authentication, security, documentation and performance.
- Strong experience with
- Developing well-designed, testable, tidy and efficient PHP amp; React code (preferably with Laravel v8)
- Automated testing (unit, integration, e2e)
- PostgreSQL (or similar)
- Logging systems and APMs (application performance manager) like Datadog or NewRelic
- Lead and train a team of developers to support their growth professionally and set high standards.
- Effectively manage communication during the release of solutions and beforehand with key stakeholders on development progress, scope and any roadblocks
- Work closely with your manager to set priorities for delivery, based on overall vision and engineering objectives.
- Stay up to date with new trends and advancements in web development technologies, frameworks and languages and apply them to Whip Around platforms where applicable
- Collaborate with other engineers to proactively identify technical and product improvements across the Whip Around product.
- Ensure key collaboration and practices are followed in an efficient manner and continually evolved to suit the needs of the team.
- Foster a culture of collective ownership and accountability for the work completed within the team.
- Collaborative definition, management and scheduling of work with external teams, to unblock dependencies as required.
