About the role
Located on Auckland’s North Shore and reporting to the Hardware Validation Team Lead, this role will be a senior member of our Hardware Product Validation team. You will play a key role in developing a world class validation environment.
Working with a broader set of teams including the Hardware MBUs (Mini Business Units), NPI, Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware and Software the Senior Validation Engineer will own the end-to-end Hardware Product Validation process for their designated MBU from test amp; sprint planning to reporting and process improvement.
As a senior member of our Hardware Validation Team, you will lead and be an ambassador for the implementation of standardized scientific test methods and processes. You will provide key mentorship to more junior members in a safe, open, and encouraging environment.
Key Responsibilities include:
- MBU Reporting (Sprint kick-offs, Progress updates, Raising of issues, closeout)
- Hardware Validation sprint planning (test flows, Unit counts, time frames, tests)
- Hardware Validation testing (Wide variety ranging from FW to ME to EE)
- Constant Process and tool improvement (standardization of scientific methods)
- Ownership of validation involvement at key project milestones
- Mentoring and leadership around test methods/process
About your Experience
To be successful in this role you will have held senior positions in Mechanical or Electrical design and manufacturing or product testing environments. A strong understanding of Mechanical, Electrical and Firmware systems at the product level are key to your success. The following experience is desired:
- 5+ years’ experience in a senior Mechanical/Electrical or Product Test/Validation role
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Electronics Engineering
- Experience with systems combining complex mechanical, electrical and firmware architectures
- Broad understanding of modern test environments
- Solid understanding of modern production and assembly techniques
- Superior analytical skills
- Scientifically minded amp; data driven approach to product validation
- Collaborative team player with personable approach
- Excellent communication both verbal and written
- Strong understanding of Mechanical part manufacture is desired
- Strong understanding of Electrical part manufacture is desired
