About the role

In the role of Senior/Intermediate AWS Cloud Developer, your main responsibilities will be to work closely with our Open-Source team, delivering highly efficient applications. Using your AWS knowledge, designing systems that follow the AWS Well Architected Framework, while ensuring the customers' needs are met. You have an eagerness to automate and continually improve systems as you see fit.

Secondarily will be to contribute to the product roadmaps by designing and implementing enhancements using high quality code within specified timeframes. You will use your experience operating software and services in production environments to help other team members improve their practices and their technical implementations. You will build your expertise in running complex systems and help others do the same. Success is measured by meeting our Service Level Agreements on a month-by-month basis and maintaining a high customer satisfaction score through our annual surveys.

What you’ll bring

Mandatory Technical Stack:

  • AWS Certified Associate
  • Experience with the following AWS services RDS, EC2, Lambda, S3, ECR, ECS, Fargate and CloudWatch
  • Knowledge of Containers e.g. Docker
  • Knowledge of Source Control e.g. GitHub, Bitbucket, Gitlab
  • Understanding of good Monitoring and alerting, using tools like Datadog, ELK, CloudWatch, Sentry etc
  • Exposure to at least one Open-Source language Ruby, Python, Java, Go or JavaScript
  • Dev Ops mindset Automate where possible
  • CICD tools e.g. GitHub Actions, CircleCI
  • Passion for creating scalable, resilient and performant applications
  • Knowledge of Linux OS with troubleshooting and diagnosing

Preferred but not mandatory:

  • AWS Professionally Certified
  • Exposure to multiple Open-Source languages in particular Ruby, Python, Go and JavaScript
  • Kubernetes
  • Programming frameworks - Ruby on Rails, NodeJS, Django, React
  • Terraform, AWS CDK
  • Linux environments
  • Serverless frameworks
  • Other Cloud Providers Azure, GCP, Alibaba
  • Experience with IoT devices
