About the Role

The role involves shift work and manual labour.

The Site Lead is responsible for the running of the Data Centre on their shift. The shifts are 24x7 and consist of one Site Lead, multiple floor technicians and a junior operator on day shifts. The Site Lead is supported by an Operations Manager.

The Site Lead will be capable of taking full responsibility for the Data Centre and leading a shift independently. They will have confidence to make hard decisions, whilst knowing when to escalate to the Operations Manager.

A Site Lead must have had exposure to a Data Centre or high availability environment. They must be process orientated and preferably had previous experience working to a 24x7 shift rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the onsite Operations team.
  • Engage your team and champion the datacom Data Centre culture
  • Prioritise and allocate tasks to your team in accordance with the shift schedule.
  • Ensure all Data Centre policies and processes are strictly followed.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed and recorded accurately.
  • Interact with external customers and internal teams.
  • Monitor and support network and hosted environments.
  • Provide hands on assistance for customers.
  • Lead fault investigation to resolution.
  • Assist floor technicians with customer change work as required
  • Execute customer batch processing.
  • Oversight of Plant and systems maintenance at the Data Centre
