About the Role

We’re looking for a Catalog Analyst for TV content to join our team who is excited about applying their database management and analytical skills to help us manage and grow our global TV content catalog. In this role, you will be at the heart of our TV catalog growth capabilities that help empower our global clients to make data-driven decisions across all and any of their content decisions.

To be eligible for an Ramp;D Career Grant internship, students must:

  • Be about to complete, or have recently completed, a masters or PhD degree in science, technology, engineering, design or business ie have submitted a thesis for marking (or completed course requirement for taught masters) less than 12 months ago
  • Have undertaken the study at a New Zealand tertiary institution if you are not a New Zealand citizen
  • Be legally permitted to work in New Zealand
  • Not have been employed as a data scientist under a professional arrangement related to your area of study except temporary, part-time or at a tertiary organisation
  • Not have been previously employed at the business unless this was short-term employment (eg over the summer break).

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Work as a leading member of our TV Catalog team in the implementation, on-boarding, execution, and analysis of shows for the TV industry and our clients.
  • Dive deep into Parrot Analytics game-changing global audience demand measurement system and its big data sets to extract value for our clients with regards to our global TV content catalog.
  • Work closely with our client-facing teams to address important questions related to our growing TV content catalog and manage amp; execute accurate delivery of catalog information to customers.

Requirements

What you will be bringing to the role

  • You are a super do-er. You like to get things done and make a real impact in the fields of big data, data science and the media industry
  • A keen thirst for growing your knowledge in the media industry and analytics space. You are someone that loves TV and keeps up with the latest in the industry which will feed into the content catalog expansion.
  • Detail-oriented and a highly organised, systematic and proactive thinker. Excellent time management and able to troubleshoot and solve problems quickly
  • Familiarity with database tools and SQL queries to extract data patterns and information to make data driven decisions.
  • Can effectively communicate technical results verbally and in writing to internal teams, clients and key industry stake holders, with a focus on driving impact
  • Proficient in office product suites like Excel, Google Sheets etc.
  • Works well with others with high-energy in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Commitment to after-hours work as our clients and team are in multiple time zones
  • Some tertiary level education in a quantitative field would be beneficial
  • Technical skills including data management, data extraction, cleaning, transformation, and visualization
  • Experience in a database management or data analytics role (within the media and entertainment industry preferred).
