We are looking for a dynamic, outstanding individual to take on the role of Desktop amp; Systems Engineer. Reporting to the Infrastructure amp; Technology Manager and part of the IT Team, the core functions of this position are, but not limited to:
- Technical Support and Problem Management
- Systems and Platforms Management
- Networking Infrastructure Management
- Partner/Vendor/Customer Support
- Technical Leadership
- Cloud Monitoring and support
- Desktop / Laptop Deployment, onboarding and offboarding
- Desk relocations, IT equipment set up
- Network, phone, power patching and cabling
- Peripheral storage and stock management
Skills and Experience
We are looking for someone with a proactive mindset, self-motivated and with outstanding time management and organizational skills. You will be excellent with communication, have a passion to learn and engage with teams. You will also have experience with the follow:
- In depth knowledge of IT infrastructure technology including servers, desktops, networks, operating systems, platforms, and configurations. Together with proven problem identification, analytical, troubleshooting, and innovative skills.
- Has demonstrated success as a Desktop / System Engineer in an infrastructure team engaged in managing desktop, laptop, servers, applications, and networking systems. Possess in-depth knowledge of Microsoft and VMware technologies, systems, and architectures.
- Has Microsoft Cloud experience, both O365 (including their full security suite) and Azure fundamentals and be happy operating in a hybrid environment.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in deploying systems and applications in a secure, multi-tiered computing environment with extensive, hands-on, and in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows technologies and O365 services. This should include Active Directory and AzureAD, Intune, applications, file and print servers, and MS Teams systems.
- Must have experience installing, troubleshooting, and designing infrastructure based on IBM, Microsoft, Dell, VMware, Cisco architectures, technologies, and systems.
- Experience in supporting a complex distributed Windows computing environment is crucial. Must have advanced knowledge of computer systems, including Windows, Linux and MacOS operating systems, as well as knowledge of storage technologies. Knowledge and a strong understanding of network protocols including TCP/IP, switch, and router technology are crucial. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary. Must have the ability to work well with others and to rapidly absorb and implement new technologies.
