About the role
Located on Auckland's North Shore and reporting to the Platform Services Development Manager, the Site Systems Solutions Architect hold responsibility for creating and setting our structural design for all our Site Services products.
We are looking for an experienced and innovative software solution architect to develop and implement the architecture for Invenco’s Forecourt Site Systems and Electronic Payment Server products. In this role you will work with Product Management and Product Owners to refine the requirements amp; architecture for a new suite of products, and oversee development, implementation, testing and ultimately deployment of these products. This is a key role and you will need to have strong experience in both software architecture amp; solutioning as well as petroleum retail site systems.

Software amp; System Architecture
- Architect and design new software products or modifications to existing products
- Work with our customers to understand their technical needs and communicate the capabilities of the solutions you are architecting and designing.
- Consider engineering trade-offs in design, ensuring good balance in proposed solutions, extensibility, flexibility amp; maintainability of design.
- Design, document and communicate system engineering specifications and product software architecture specifications, based on market requirements provided by product management.
- Demonstrate linkage between architectural design and requirements to ensure all requirements have been met.
Leadership
- Provide energizing, inspirational, motivational, thoughtful and technically strong leadership
- Challenge traditional thought with out of the box and innovative thinking.
- Lead technical decision making for product architecture and implementation.
- Take engineering team on the design journey, collaborate, and be an evangelist for architecture and technology areas
- Invest in fellow architects, developers and testers through mentoring and knowledge sharing
- Provide leadership which describes architectural vision and philosophies that guides the team in their own decision-making responsibilities
- Be a people leader, and advocate for a postive culture led by our values of winning, collaboration and invention
Payments amp; Forecourt Subject Matter Expert
- Develop and maintain an understanding of payments amp; forecourt systems technology.
- Work with payments experts to ensure overall systems are fit for purpose including certifications amp; compliance.
- Work with and contribute to industry standards organisations for petroleum, payment and cloud to drive standardization, as well as ensuring Invenco is at the forefront of these standards
- Keep abreast of payment technology and certification trends and developments.
Skills and experience
We are looking for a strong leadership spirit to get the work done as a team. Someone who can create and be part of a collaborative environment, as well as providing direction and leadership to the team. Our teams are creating new and exciting global products, ensuring Invenco continues to be a leader in the payments field. Ideally you will hold the following experience:
- Expert software system design knowledge.
- 5+ years software development experience as a Senior Developer, expert level in at least one language with good familiarity across a range of languages (C++, Java, node.js etc)
- Up to date with the direction and latest approaches in software development.
- Able to work with/influence executive-level management and customers.
- Ability to meet tight schedules and cost targets without compromising customer requirements.
- Excellent communication skills
- 5+ years experience in technical development of payment and/or petroleum retail solutions.
- Experience collaborating with petroleum and payments industry standards organisations.
- Software architecture experience in agile (preferably SAFe) development environment.
