The Opportunity

We’re looking for an exceptional Process amp; Production Engineer (junior) to join the team and help us design and implement innovative engineering solutions.

You may have just finished your first year as an Engineering grad, intern or similar. Ideally you have had some exposure in designing and improving machinery, process amp; quality controls; and have proven ability to smoothly transition new designs from prototype to production with a focus on automation.

You would have studied relevant Undergraduate or Postgraduate Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Engineering Science or Mechatronics) and have graduated within the last 3 years.

In this role you will work alongside a lean tight-knit team of talented and skilled engineers.

A typical day might look like:

  • Constant evaluation and improvement of processes with a strong lean towards automation
  • New equipment installation, commissioning, training, SOPs and handover
  • Continuously improve product quality and production consistency
  • Continuously improve and innovate functions and processes by keeping up-to-date with latest developments in food and other industries
  • Continuously innovate plant and production lines optimised for streamlined productivity and rapid adaptability.
  • Assist with developing lean, agile and scalable production processes that maintain consistently high product quality, minimise risk and maximise efficiencies amp; optionality
  • Assist with developing working instructions, workmanship standards and process documents, and ensure they are communicated well and adhered to
  • Work with Product developers to translate and implement new product lines from Ramp;D to production
  • Help in the design and manufacture of new machinery and equipment
  • Liaise with suppliers with minimal disclosure to maintain strict confidentiality on company IP
  • Assist with managing process change - training and supervising staff on new processes and technology

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering (or similar).
  • Some work experience in Manufacturing/Process/Automation within a relevant sector i.e. Food, Dairy, General Manufacturing.
  • You have proven understanding of safe and hygienic manufacturing processes with foolproof quality controls.
  • You’re technology savvy and can research, analyse, and implement new machinery solutions quickly.
  • You have exceptional problem-solving skills and are able to think outside-the-box and implement creative solutions.
  • You operate at rapid pace with competence to distill complex information quickly and take intelligent action.
  • You work with high energy and momentum and are ruthlessly results-driven.
  • Your attention to detail is meticulous and you have a highly organised and methodical approach to your work.
  • You are thorough in your analysis and think through all possible use cases leaving no stone unturned.
  • You have fantastic written and verbal communication skills, and enjoy creating and documenting process playbooks.
  • You have strong integrity and strictly abide by your confidentiality obligations.
