An exciting opportunity awaits a talented Chef De Partie to produce creative and innovative gourmet meals for our Vices amp; Virtues Restaurant and Bar, designed by the award winning designer Rachel Luchetti.


Adjoining a luxury accommodation complex, the 100 seat Vices amp; Virtues is a busy gourmet affair and we are looking for an enthusiastic chef who loves to cook and assist in delivering our a la carte menu offerings for breakfast, lunch and dinner and small conference and meeting events.


This is a hands on role in an open kitchen environment which requires excellent kitchen management skills.

You will be able to delegate duties and responsibilities and assist to lead the team on shifts when the Sous Chef and Head Chef are not on to ensure the delivery of exceptional service.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Organise and work in the kitchen service operations for the restaurant and room service on a day to day basis so that they run efficiently and productively
  • Follow the guidance of the Senior chefs and helping to guide Junior Team Members
  • Be pro-active in controlling food and manning costs whilst maintaining standards
  • Participate in the drafting of concept ideas and menus
  • Assist with ordering supplies
  • Comply with nutrition, sanitation and food safety standards
  • Foster an environment of cooperation and respect between co-workers

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Chef De Partie in a 5 star busy a la carte operation
  • An engaging personality with the skills to interact with customers/guests
  • Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
  • Flexible to work rostered shifts, including weekends, late nights and public holidays.
  • Capable of planning and delegating multiple tasks
  • Open communication skills
  • Keeps up with cooking trends and best practices
  • Familiarity with sanitation regulations
  • Qualified culinary degree/certificate
