We're on the hunt for a full time enthusiastic, skilled, professional barista to stamp their expertise on our L'affare Wellington café and roastery.
We’re an odd lot but passionate about coffee and food and we're after people that are similar. You will be working in a small team, so you must be a team player!
You'll work around 35 hours per week on a Monday to Sunday roster, daytime hours.
Duties:
- To ensure that all coffee produced is consistent and of the highest quality; while maintaining good a good workflow, clean machine and workspace.
- To take pride in every coffee produced understanding that every cup produced is representative of not only your barista skills but also L'affare.
- To participate in all coffee related training sessions and to be active wherever possible in NZSCA and Barista Guild events.
- To be enthusiastic and energetic with customers and to help out fellow staff when required.
- To be willing and able to perform in all aspects of the café, including food and drink preparation, service and cleaning
- To comply with all health and safety, and hygiene standards, and to maintain a smart appearance.
- To work well in a team environment and take a positive approach to the L'affare Brand.
Requirements
We are looking for someone that has:
- Strong understanding of specialty coffee
- Excellent Barista skills and ready to improve, discover and learn more about the craft of making espresso.
- A desire to learn more about coffee and alternative brewing methods.
- Ability to communicate effectively with fellow staff and customers.
- Trustworthy, reliable and punctual. Enthusiastic and friendly.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment.
- Good communication skills.
- An ability to work well under pressure.
- An understanding of great customer service.
