Job Description

We are a leading Auckland hospitality group with a brand new hotel in Auckland CBD and a MIQ hotel at Auckland Airport.

We are seeking a talented Maintenance Technician with a minimum of 5 years trades experience and multi skilled as a handy person. Basically, you can turn your hand to almost everything and have a trade under your belt!

We are looking for an individual who is personable, efficient, a problem solver and works well in a team. This role will be predominantly based at the city hotel with the occasional requirements to work at the airport hotel. As this is an MIQ facility, you will be required to follow strict MIQ facility protocols including fortnightly Covid testing.

This is a Monday to Friday role with emergency availability on weekends and evenings if needed.

Requirements

  • Follow preventive maintenance schedule
  • Repair or resolve maintenance issues in a timely manner
  • Identify problems that could escalate to become larger issues and notify the maintenance manager
  • Maintenance repairs could range from painting, air conditioning, minor plumbing repairs and general fixings
  • Ensure all systems, workshops and machinery are maintained in a clean and safe condition.
  • Attend meetings as requested by the Hotel Manager and hold meetings with staff for communication.
  • To assist the management in any job related functions as required from time to time by management and ensuring the hotel operates as a team.
  • To carry out periodical checks of contractor maintenance to ensure standard and professionalism is being maintained.
  • To ensure hotel vehicles are well maintained and clean
  • Manage contractors on site including induction
