THE OPPORTUNITY

Due to continued growth, we are now looking for an experienced Plant Manager to own manufacturing fitness, lead the manufacturing team, manage training and safety, and maximise production output.
As a senior leader you will be reporting directly to the COO, with responsibility for leading all production operations in our complex and dynamic production facility. You will provide direction, support and technical expertise to lead and upskill the production department and ensure the company’s ability to produce, meets quality, cost and demand requirements. Additionally, the role will utilise your commercial ability, contributing at a high level and cross functionally within the senior leadership team.
You are a proven people leader who has significant manufacturing / operational management experience.
We are looking for someone with a high degree of personal responsibility, a can-do attitude, strong communication skills and the ability to motivate others.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include:
- Plan, organise, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to ensure optimum performance of the manufacturing line.
- Continuously optimise and upgrade training and development for the manufacturing teams.
- Operations planning and Quality Control.
- Creating and executing robust systems and processes and continuously identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Lead, deliver and monitor the Health and Safety and Food Safety initiatives and projects.
- Manage Food Production and the entire fulfilment process to the highest standard while constantly optimising quality and productivity.
- Continually looking to improve Operational Performance through agreed KPI's.
- Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
- Maintain a tight line of communication to the operations, engineering and compliance teams.
- Continuously feedback and improve SOPs for optimum performance of the production line.
- Own health amp; safety processes for your team - the buck stops with you!
- Ability to have those hard conversations.
- Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts.
Requirements
Does this sound like you?
- You will have proven work experience as a Plant Manager (management exp ideal)
- You come from a manufacturing background
- You will be be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation and inventory.
- You’re a strong Project Manager, your organisational skills are second to none.
- You totally get the ins and outs of hygiene, health amp; safety requirements in a food production environment.
- You have the ability to prioritise tasks, manage time, all while operating at speed.
- You have managed a team before and are comfortable providing feedback when needed.
- You are digital savvy and used to communicating on group chats at a fast pace.
- You are an excellent communicator amp; can communicate with staff on all levels.
- You thrive in a fast-paced agile start-up environment, enjoy Ramp;D and constant change.
- You are a quick learner with a continuous improvement mindset and a positive attitude.
