About the Role

We are looking for a talented Senior Software Developer / Technical Lead to boost our capabilities in the Nelson Office. You will have a strong software development grounding in enterprise-grade environments, backed up by a broad development background across a wide range of the latest tools, languages and methodologies. You will know how to work collaboratively as part of a team, helping deliver quality, innovative and right-sized solutions, on time and to budget, thereby helping drive value for our clients. But where you will be strongest is in engaging with clients to establish and align expectations, and then devising effective ways to deliver against those expectations.

You will have had leading roles in the design, development, migration, integration and implementation of large scale enterprise systems. Your recommendations will be sound, pragmatic and set things up for success.

This is an opportunity to use your experience to help drive a number of client relationships and engagements. You will work with, lead and mentor other Software Developers and play a key role in the success and growth of the team, the Nelson Branch and our clients.

What you'll bring:

  • 6+ years’ experience working in IT projects across multiple phases of the SDLC, successfully delivering a variety of solutions for a variety of customers, preferably taking these projects from conception through to benefits realisation.
  • Strong knowledge across current software toolsets such as C#/.Net, C#/.Net Core, Java.
  • Experience in systems integration using APIs; REST, web services.
  • Experience with web front-end technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS, React, Angular, Blazor or ASP .Net, Razor.
  • Experience with Azure cloud platform, comparable public cloud platforms and SaaS applications
  • Experience with database solutions such as SQL Server and MySQL along with Operating Systems such as Windows and Android.
  • Experience of DevOps, CI/CD and IaC techniques and tools such as Terraform, Azure DevOps
  • Experience in CX/UX and other methodologies to identify and drive value.
  • Experience of software configuration management using Git or similar tools.
  • Degree-level qualifications backed up with current industry qualifications.
  • Excellent organisation and problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
  • Ability to oversee multiple active engagements whilst at the same time framing up the next engagements.
  • Team player who enjoys working collaboratively, mentoring others and generally sharing your knowledge to lift the capability of the entire team.
  • Excellent at personal task management and attention to detail
