The Compute Projects Team works as part of Compute and Infrastructure Applications (NZ). This is a core Project Team that is driven to succeed and now, because of their ongoing success, we are seeing a strong demand for their skills and are on the lookout for Technical Consultants to join as we expand across the business. About the Role
This role would suit a client facing Senior Systems Engineer looking to fast-track their career as a consultant or those who already have the background and want to step into a more dynamic role that will utilize their skills to the max. A global all-rounder on Microsoft, with an edge to Azure to join our team focusing on technical excellence, customer ownership and the delivery of professional, consistent and quality service to our customers. Bonus if you have some cloud skills and looking to expand on these Either way we want to hear from you.
We’re looking for the passion, ambition, and a depth and breadth of core knowledge as well as the adaptability to cross-train in other areas as market demands in this role. Having strong experience in Azure and building automation (Ansible scripts etc), automating tasks is what we are looking for.
What you’ll do
- Implementation and build of windows systems, and design if appropriately skilled
- Requirements gathering and SOW creation
- Detailed design creation
- Working in collaboration with the team
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years of professional experience
- Implementation and upgrade experience is a must
- Ability and willingness to be self-managing and proactive
- Aptitude to mentor other people within the team and wider Datacom, providing technical guidance and leadership on projects
- A commitment to training, up-skilling and professional development.
- Have produced and peer reviewed high level documentation and requirements gathering
- Confidence to engage with our clients, and talk them through benefits of the solution you are recommending
- Written skills to document the solution and create a compelling story for our clients
- Demonstrated the ability to engage with customer at all levels
- Someone who can influence outcomes
- Being an advocate for our clients and our services
- Commercially astute
Core Technical Skills
- Current implementation experience in an enterprise environment; Windows, Vmware, Azure, O365 with advanced skills in these areas
- Current implementation experience that would be a bonus; Automation and Unix skills.
- Worked in an Agile and Devops environment
- Microsoft server operating system and core productivity applications.
- Virtualisation and storage technologies.
- Microsoft desktop operating systems and imaging core productivity applications
- Anti-virus
- Systems monitoring tools
- Hardware and Storage
- Azure Cloud services with advanced knowledge in Exchange on line, PaaS/SaaS platform
Desirable Technical Skills:
- VMware ESXi server
- Citrix
- Desktop virtualisation
- PowerShell scripting
Certification level:
Microsoft MCSE or equivalent experience
